Guest Blogger: Adam Filipek

Kent and I are delighted to announce that Rev. Dr. Adam Filipek has agreed to serve as a guest blogger this fall. His biweekly series, beginning September 25, will draw from his first-hand parish experience and academic research for his Doctor of Ministry degree. In an email suggesting a series topic to us, he wrote that he would focus on the “how,” that is, how he developed “a more comprehensive and cohesive approach to Christian formation which takes the genius of Luther’s Small Catechism … by situating the Law/Gospel salvific narrative [of the catechism] into a broader, unified, overarching, grand-sweeping biblical narrative of God’s salvific work in Christ, as proclaimed in Scripture and the Liturgy.”

Since 2016 Adam Filipek has served as pastor of Holy Cross and Immanuel Lutheran Churches, Lidgerwood, North Dakota; he is author of Life in Christ: Rooted, Woven, and Grafted into God’s Story (CPH, 2024) and is an adjunct professor at Concordia University, St. Paul and Concordia Seminary, St. Louis.
