“Visioning Lab” at CSP this Week

We are pleased to announce that 10 people are currently attending our Visioning Lab, “From Font to Table: Welcoming the Stranger into Christ and Congregational Life” at Concordia University – St. Paul (CSP). We are thankful for the partnership between Concordia Seminary, St. Louis and CSP that made this event possible, especially Erika Bennett, Director of Continuing Education at the seminary, and Jane Wilke, Director of Church Relations at CSP.

We’re sharing a few photos of the group, which includes pastors, commissioned ministers, and laity among the participants; they have come from Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, and New York.

It’s Not Too Late! We Are Still Accepting Registrations!

There is still room for more participants at our Visioning Lab “From Font to Table: Welcoming the Stranger into Christ and Congregational Life” to be held at Concordia University – St. Paul, Minnesota, from July 5 – 7 (Wednesday through Friday). If you missed the deadline but wish to attend, contact Rhoda Schuler at Rhoda@FormingLutherans.org. Because the online registration through Concordia Seminary is closed, you will need to bring a check for $140.00 made out to Concordia Seminary to the workshop.  We must hear from you by midnight, Sunday, July 2.

We have designed this “visioning lab” on adult faith formation to encourage pastors, commissioned ministers, and lay leaders to imagine how you might design an adult catechumenate process for your congregation and to give you structured time to plan the initial steps for introducing this process at your parish.

Registration closes on June 21 at midnight for our workshop titled “From Font to Table: Welcoming the Stranger into Christ and Congregational Life” to be held at Concordia University – St. Paul, Minnesota, from July 5 – 7 (Wednesday through Friday).

Join Rev. Dr. Kent Burreson and Dcs. Dr. Rhoda Schuler to discover that faith formation is not a program but a way of life. Through congregational life of community and worship, teaching and preaching, witness and service, God transforms the baptized and the community, deeply and broadly.

We have designed this “visioning lab” on adult faith formation to encourage pastors, commissioned ministers, and lay leaders to imagine how you might design an adult catechumenate process for your congregation and to give you structured time to plan the initial steps for introducing this process at your parish.

The cost is $140.00.

Register Now for Our Visioning Labs on Adult Faith Formation

Registration deadlines are approaching for our Summer “Visioning Labs” designed to encourage pastors, commissioned ministers, and lay leaders to envision how you might introduce an adult catechumenate process into your congregation.

These visioning labs will offer experiences for you to consider and plan ways to incorporate catechumenal practices into congregational life. These experiences will include video and live interviews with pastoral practitioners, prayer modeling in the faith formation experience, practicing various catechumenal methods for Scripture study, and ritual experiences employed in the catechumenate. It will be a hands on lab!

There are two workshops/visioning labs scheduled

  • June 26-28 at Faith Lutheran Church, Ottawa, Kansas (near Kansas City)
    • Lead by Rev. Dr. Kent Burreson
    • Cost: $140.00
    • Registration deadline: JUNE 12! ONLY FOUR DAYS!
